Deskripsi TA : Meliaca Eatery is a Malaysian Restaurant based in Malang. In this project, the owner wanted a refresh and a new concept for the new restaurant that will be build in Jl. Bukit Dieng Permai. The owner wanted the new restaurant to reflect more about “Kota Melaka” but still has the same DNA with the previous restaurant that was dominated by an industrial style. So, in this project we approaches the design with sense of place approach. We believe with sense of place approach, the restaurant will achieve the sense of place of “Kota Melaka” from the image, form and activity. The style that we choose to serve as the main image for this restaurant is the combination of industrial and Peranakan color palette and accessories inside the interior spaces. Meanwhile from the architecture perspective, we try to combine various historicism building and elements like the famous Christ Church in Melaka.
